Mount Vernon First Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ)
"Joined together as a caring family of faith to bring Christ into the world."

Hours of Worship
We gather together for worship each Sunday morning at 10:30 am. Prior to that, we meet for church school at 9:30 am. Each week, during our worship service, we celebrate through prayer, song, scripture, message, and communion. In sharing of the Lord's Supper, we remember and honor Jesus Christ. Everyone is invited to participate.

Community Outreach
Jesus calls us to service. In answering his call, we support a number of community service organizations and projects. Among these are the Friendship House, Skagit County Community Action Agency, Battered Women's Shelter, and various local schools. Through our Good Samaritan's Fund, we also provide limited assistance for such things as food and gasoline.

Study Groups
One of the ways we grow in discipleship is through study. Every Tuesday, at 6:30 pm., we have a gathering of those interested in learning more about the Bible and other areas of Christian concern. Our prayer group meets at 10:00 am. on Mondays. We convene other groups to discuss various topics, as needs and interests arise.

Our Denomination
As members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we believe our only creed is Christ. We shouldn't burden our lives with confusing rules of fellowship. There is no test of membership beyond faith in God's love and the Christ we have in Jesus, who leads us to reconciliaton with God and each other. Our emphasis is place on living in ways that confirm our beliefs and understanding. At our best, we carry out a ministry that makes a difference in the world and reflects the good news of God's grace extended to all people.

Our Congregation
The Mount Vernon First Christian Church gathers together as a community of faith, declaring Jesus as the Christ, the one who reconciles us with God and with each other. We provide a place of traditional worship in a forthright, supportive, and open atmosphere. We are a congregation committed to serving local and global outreach ministries.
